Apple Wine blended with Maple Mead

Well, it started out on a simple bottling day about 18 months ago, when to my dismay I ended up with 3/4 of a bottle of left-over spiced apple wine, and 1/4 of a bottle of leftover maple mead; neither of which are a preferred vintage of mine (but they are extremely popular with my family and friends!).


Well, not wanting to drink either myself, I blended the two, corked it, slapped the bottle with a warning sticker (one of my nephew's skull-and-cross bones stickers) and promptly forgot about it.

I just "rediscovered" it last week and thought; what the heck, I might as well give it a go. And, holy bananas! It's amazing! It tastes like someone took my mother's apple cobbler and made it into a blended wine.

Honestly, between myself and my SO, the bottle went pretty darn fast. I am hoping the repeat the happy accident this fall again and see if I can't reproduce the results!
